Yakuimon gate at a residence for monks and a mud wall are being restored based upon a foundation stone to erect a pillar on it and a stone wall discovered by excavational investigation. Stone paved passage along the wing wall at the side of the gate that leads to the residence was also discovered. This architectural arrangement has something in common with that of Jizoin at the site called “Kitadani two thousand and four hundred residences for monks”.
State-of-the-art town planning in those days was incorporated in Heisenji temple in Medieval period making use of stones, whose technique is said to have influenced the construction of the castle town of Ichijodani.
